African Safaris is a local travel agency attracting mainly international customers. They assist clients in finding a tour or accommodation tailor-made to suit their needs. Their head offices are in New York with consultants working across Africa.
We integrated African Safari Consultants’ website with Travelogic, a program for tour operators providing accurate accommodation prices. They store live room rates for thousands of accommodations throughout Africa. We found a solution that allowed us to pull through the rooms and rates that are available. The room rates go into a single accommodation screen allowing users to then do a price rate search for the dates that they are interested in. This functionality also works with switching currencies and we were therefore able to bring through multiple currency rates.
In our latest update to the site, we used Optimizely, a plugin that allows us to serve different versions of a page in order to A/B test their conversion and interaction rates. Through this plugin we were able to make informed decisions using solid user data about how to best optimize the site. We opted to use orange as the key CTA colour throughout the site for key elements and buttons.
We also added TrustPilot reviews to the site. TrustPilot is an online review service that gives visitors to the African Safari Consultant’s website a sense of being in safe hands, especially thanks to their 5-Star reviews!
We recently improved the site load times by hard coding much of the homepage. It was previously largely dynamic content, but by hardcoding it, it’s now much lighter on load times.
African Safari Consultants received a beautifully designed WordPress website that gives visitors information on tours, accommodation, destinations, teams, reviews and more. It communicates with their website’s users in a functional manner and allows them to track their business through our integrations.
Integrating with Wetu allowed us to import accommodation and tour information. The client’s content was created in Wetu’s system and LightSpeed’s Wetu Importer pulled through all the information and put it on African Safari Consultants’ website. We then used the LSX Tour Operator Plugin to configure the accommodations, accommodation styles, destinations, tours and travel styles.
